Hair Transplant Turkey: FUE Technique
The hair transplantation technique FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) consists of the direct and individual extraction of follicular units. The technique is based on extracting hair from the back and sides of the head and grafting it to the areas damaged by alopecia. This method is minimally invasive and does not leave scars. There must be enough hair in the donor area to cover the area to be transplanted.

Initial Phase
The first step in performing a hair transplant using the FUE technique is to prepare the donor area. This is cut to a length of 3 mm and local anaesthesia is applied to both the donor and recipient areas. The effect of the anaesthesia will last up to 10-12 hours. During the operation the patient can sleep, listen to music, watch TV or read.
Following anaesthesia, the follicle extraction phase begins by means of microsurgery, taking the units individually without leaving any scars. With this technique we can extract different types of follicular units: one hair, more suitable for frontal areas, or two or more hairs for areas that require a higher hair density.
Extraction Phase
In the extraction phase, the grafts will be obtained from the lateral or posterior parts of the scalp, which, after being carefully transplanted under a microscope, will be carefully introduced by means of micro-incisions into the recipient areas (without hair).
The follicles are extracted individually from the donor part and re-implanted in the areas where there is hair loss (between 35-40 units per square centimetre). The extraction is performed with imperceptible micro incisions around each follicle chosen for transplantation. It is a minimally invasive surgical treatment. The transplant recipient can quickly return to their normal life and the scars are practically imperceptible, without seams, staples or any sign of the transplant.
The postoperative period is practically non-existent and the hair will follow its normal growth cycle.
Design Phase
Once the follicles have been extracted, we proceed to the design phase. The doctor and the patient will decide on the best location for the hair to be transplanted, depending on the desired density and the number of extractions.
Thanks to the FUE technique, hair transplantation is tailored to the patient and their individual needs.
Post-operative phase
The post-operative period is very good, although during the first 24 hours the patient will observe a slight reddening of the treated areas. After these first hours these signs will begin to disappear. In a subsequent visit a few days later (included in our package) the process will be checked.
The first few days after surgery are the most critical, the patient will have to be very careful not to hit the treated area and avoid bumps or scratches. One week later the patient will be able to wash the affected area. Most of the implanted hair will fall out during the first three months of the operation due to the stress of the operation. An optimal aesthetic result will be achieved half a year after the treatment.
Pre-intervention requirements
Patient diagnosis: It includes a study of the hair and scalp and is completed with a medical history and a family history of pathologies related to alopecia.
Medical treatment: indicate the medical treatment being followed, the professional must know the medicines being taken to check compatibility with the intervention and, if necessary, advise to pause taking them or change the drugs for others that are more suitable.
Pre-treatment: It consists of stopping taking multivitamins at least one week before the operation, as well as fizzy drinks, caffeine (or similar) and alcohol, as these elements can interfere with the normal action of the drugs. Smoking should also be stopped a few days beforehand so that the blood is properly oxygenated and the healing process is easier and not at all risky.
* It is important to arrive at the consultation with perfectly clean hair and scalp, having used a neutral shampoo and without applying any treatment or finishing product.

Transplantation + Painless local sedation
Before carrying out a hair transplantation painless local sedation is performed directly on the scalp.
The sedation that was performed until now was the classic needle sedation that delivered the drug and the idea of pain due to the puncture was an unpleasant thought.
This has changed, in Global Health we use an alternative solution that offers our patients sedation with a needle-free syringe. This is a small compressed air gun which, once activated on the skin, vaporises the anaesthetic through the epidermis without causing any pain to the patient.

Can I get a haircut/go to the hairdresser before the operation?
The client must present himself at the clinic with a haircut of minimum level 3 and not lower.
Does the operation hurt, and is there any pain?
The operation is completely painless thanks to the local anaesthetic you will be given before the operation begins.
Can I have the operation without having to shave my whole head?
Yes, thanks to the IHD technique. The DHI (Direct Hair Implanter) technique is only possible in the following cases:
- Good blood circulation.
- Grafting sessions not exceeding 2,000 follicles.
- This technique allows the patient not to be shaved.
Is it necessary to take any medication before the operation?
It is not necessary to take any type of medication for this type of operation. If the client has a medical condition and is taking any other medication, he/she must notify the clinic beforehand.
